Laser Hair Removal Costs: Worth The Money?
You want to get rid of unwanted and unsightly hairs on
your face, your back, your underarms, and you're tired of razors and
waxes. So, what are your options? You've undoubtedly heard of lasers
and electrolysis, among other procedures. Knowing that permanent hair
removal and reduction means a trip or two to a specialist, you are also
probably concerned that price tag is going to be quite high. In fact,
laser hair removal costs are not as much of a sacrifice as you may
believe.
First of all, think about the price you already pay to keep doing the
same thing over and over to briefly eliminate hair. Razors, whether
disposable or not, have to be replaced periodically. So too do shaving
creams or lotions. Waxes and sugary solutions last for a few weeks at
best, and waxing at home or in a salon is not the cheapest expense
either. Consider, also, how valuable your time is to you. Spending
thirty minutes tweezing, plucking, ripping, and shaving every day or so
can really add up. As you mull these expenditures over, laser hair
removal costs don't seem so bad after all.
Now, think about how much easier your daily routine could be if you
eliminated the hair maintenance altogether. And subtract all of your
hair removal implements from your shopping list—for a busy
person, that alone could make the deal. Laser hair removal costs are
not set in stone; that is, many factors come into the equation.
Depending on the area needing treatment, how much hair is in that area,
and even on which facility you choose, the costs can vary. In addition,
some people require more than one treatment with the lasers to
completely eradicate the hair.
Generally speaking, though, laser hair removal costs average
approximately four hundred and thirty dollars, according to the
American Society of Plastic Surgeons. To be certain, this is a
procedure that does involve some initial outlay of money. On the other
hand, it is important to consider how much you spend over a year or
more on those other hair removal methods. Let's say that you shave the
unwanted hair, and you use disposable razors and store brand shaving
cream, and the minimum times you shave is every other day. So, at three
or four times a week, you are shaving anywhere from one hundred and
fifty six to over two hundred times every year!
Using that estimation, consider how many uses can come from one
disposable razor. For the sake of argument, let's say five. And one can
of shaving cream lasts through ten shaves. If there are four razors in
a pack of disposables, and that package costs five dollars, then you
spend somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty or sixty dollars annually
just on razors. The shaving cream costs around three dollars a can, and
you'll use twenty one this year. So that is going to run you
sixty-three dollars annually. Add in the time you spend shaving, and
the costs are only slightly less than laser hair removal costs. And
keep in mind that shaving is not permanent, while laser eradication of
hair can last forever. All told, laser hair removal costs are worth
every penny.
